Urban Contours redefined Thalia Budin, Katharina Zull, Björn Becker

The project offers a new approach for the densification of modern cities. Instead of closing the block, the building volume follows the contour of an empty site, providing small residential units whilst preserving the open, sometimes even green city spaces. With a depth less than 5 meters, the footprint of each apartment stays small enough to generate an affordable living space in even the most central locations of the city. Urban Contours Redefined focuses not only on the relation between different individuals living in a building but also the relation of a community living in and with the city.
